Pietá à Beira do Abismo (2021) foi um díptico de fotoperformance premiada com o Prêmio Acadêmico Invenções Pandêmicas do Centro de Artes da UDESC.

“A imagem da virgem chorosa recebendo o corpo do filho descido da cruz é um floreio poético da tragédia. Se pudéssemos perguntar a Michelangelo a força imposta sobre a pedra ao esculpir sua delicada “Pietà”, certamente sua resposta não seria sobre um afago tenro e piedoso senão sobre bolhas e calos, sobre a dureza da matéria bruta. A vida é matéria bruta e, neste momento, é uma bolha rosa arada na carne. Pietá, aqui, é o ato de depositar um corpo no solo, é um punhado de terra sobre os seus, é o último encontro à beira do abismo, é o falecimento de uma razão capital.” (Texto que segue a obra).

Pietà à Beira do Abismo (2021) was a photoperformance diptych awarded the Academic Award for Pandemic Inventions by the UDESC Arts Center.

“The image of the weeping virgin receiving the body of her son taken down from the cross is a poetic flourish of tragedy. If we could ask Michelangelo about the force imposed on the stone when sculpting his delicate “Pietà”, his answer would certainly not be about a tender and pious caress but about blisters and calluses, about the hardness of raw material. Life is raw material and, at this moment, it is a pink blister plowed into the flesh. Pietà, here, is the act of depositing a body on the ground, it is a handful of earth on its own, it is the last encounter on the edge of the abyss, it is the death of a capital reason.” (Text that follows the work).
